AEI Fly Fishing Guides

AEI's Base Camp is located on Illinois Creek in the Taylor Park area of the Gunnison National Forest. We can also provide lodging, hardy meals, full guide services and all transportation to and from fly fishing locations. We fish the tributaries feeding both the Taylor Reservoir and Taylor River. We also guide on the Gunnison River and East River.

Our guide service reveals some of the best "sweet spots" in the Rockies. Over 100 miles of mountain creeks and countless beaver ponds provide our clients with the opportunity to catch a variety of rainbows, brooks, browns and cutthroat trout.

Our float fishing experiences are on the renowned Gunnison River. We offer half-day and full-day float fishing trips. 1 or 2 person(s) per boat. If you have ever wanted to experience a float trip, this is a fantastic alternative to traditional walk-wade trips. Fly fishing the Gunnison basin is often on a lot of fly fisherman's bucket list and fly fishing with AEI Outfitters gives you the opportunity to experience a multitude of all the Gunnison valley has to offer!

The remoteness of AEI's Base Camp has left its countless beaver ponds, spring creeks, high mountain lakes, rivers, and mountain streams virtually untouched by fishermen. These tributaries to the famous Taylor River are teaming with hungry rainbow, brook, brown and cutthroat trout. Whether you are looking for peace and solitude in high mountain meadows or a solid start on a life long passion, AEI Guide and Outfitter can accommodate your fishing adventure.

Prime fishing season begins in June and continues through September. AEI Guide and Outfitter is a licensed member of the Colorado Outfitters Association and is also bonded and insured in Colorado.

Nothing compares to fishing in the breathtaking beauty of the Rockies. Let AEI Guide and Outfitters guide you through the private and pristine waters of Colorado's back country.
